YouTube Nonstop for Android (2026 Guide)

Android users have more freedom than iOS users, but recent crackdowns on “Vanced” apps have left many confused. This guide clarifies the safe, working methods for 2026.

⚡ Quick Fixes for Android

Option 1: The “Gold Standard” (ReVanced)

The original “YouTube Vanced” is dead. The new standard is ReVanced.

Warning: Do not download pre-made APKs from random websites. They often contain malware. You must build it yourself using the official manager.

  1. Download the Manager: Go to the Official ReVanced GitHub and download the app-release.apk.
  2. Install & Run: Open the Manager. It will guide you to download the correct, un-patched YouTube APK (usually from APKMirror).
  3. Patch: Select the YouTube app in the Manager, select “Recommended” patches (this includes Minimized Playback and Client Spoof to fix buffering), and tap Patch.
  4. Install: Once patching is done, tap Install.

Pros: Native app experience, SponsorBlock, Dislike count.
Cons: Slightly complex setup; requires MicroG for login.

Option 2: The “Lazy” Browser Method (Firefox)

If you don’t want to install untrusted APKs, use Firefox.

  1. Install Firefox for Android from the Play Store.
  2. Tap the Menu (three dots) > Add-ons.
  3. Search for and install Video Background Play Fix.
  4. (Optional) Install uBlock Origin for ad blocking.

Pros: Safe, updates automatically via Play Store.
Cons: Web interface is less smooth than the native app.

Why “Vanced” Stopped Working

Google sent a Cease & Desist to the original Vanced team. Since then, “Vanced” apps you find online are either:

  1. Old versions that are broken.
  2. Fake versions containing spyware. Always use ReVanced Manager or Grayjay.

Battery Optimization: The Silent Killer

If your music stops exactly 10 minutes after you lock the screen, it’s not YouTube—it’s your phone.

  • Samsung: Settings > Apps > YouTube/ReVanced > Battery > Unrestricted.
  • Pixel: Settings > Apps > Special App Access > Unrestricted Data > Toggle On.
